A third weekend's work has seen the second and last of the variable vegetable beds (as opposed to the permanently-planted ones, with currants and raspberries) reconstructed, turf dug and relaid and even a few potatoes planted!
And done without needing to move the leeks and garlic.
The paths still need to be properly laid - there's another weekend's work there - and it'll look fab.

Although I hoped we weren't very far away from the end

We were down the allotment today - moved 3 barrow loads of brick and large stones - put down two raised beds - planted jerusalem artichokes - put down shed base and found a raspberry cane. Not bad for a few hours work.
Looking good!
Oh I so envy your tidy garden, and it looks so easy to keep under control. It's all very well wanting to run a smallholding but for most of the time the garden and veg plots seem to be galloping away from us no matter how hard we try to keep everything tidy and under control!
Give yourself a Bishop's Finger!
It won't stay neat and tidy for long, vera, if past experience is anything to go by!
Lois, I had Crabbies instead. ;)
